COVID-19 Update

As lockdown restrictions start to be eased we are now able to move on from emergency-only services.

Some routine procedures such as puppy and kitten vaccinations, first booster vaccinations for dogs/cats and any small animal booster vaccination which has gone more than 2 months overdue can now be carried out.

Rabbit vaccinations can recommence, as can horse vaccinations.

Social distancing measures remain in place and we would ask you to continue to call ahead to order repeat prescriptions and to knock and wait outside on all visits to the practice. We continue to prefer payment by BACS or card wherever possible.

Thank you all so much for your patience and understanding as we have navigated life in lockdown – it continues to be much appreciated.

COVID-19 Update

Following the latest advice from the Government, and with guidance from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, Machars Veterinary Services will now be operating an ’emergency only’ protocol for all small animal clients until further notice.

We are still:

  • treating all cases that require urgent veterinary attention
  • dispensing repeat prescriptions
  • available for telephone consultation/advice at any time

Should your pet require ANY OF THE ABOVE, please call the practice in the first instance. If a consultation is indicated, we will arrange an appointment and advise you as to the procedure for the examination.

If you need to visit the practice to collect medications then please wait outside until signalled to enter. We are operating a strict one-in, one-out policy at all times and will ask you to sanitise your hands on arrival. Where possible we will deliver your items to the door to ensure you do not need to enter the building at all.

Whilst the health and welfare of the animals under our care remains our primary focus, we need to ensure that in the current climate we provide all services in a manner which safeguards both our clients and staff.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and co-operation. Look after yourselves and each other.
